Sun Lee is an undergraduate student at Cornell University majoring in Biometry & Statistics. At Cornell, he has conducted research on the molecular basis of NLR recognition of TAL effectors in tomato and rice and has contributed to tissue culture efforts for genome editing of grape to improve resistance to powdery mildew. This summer, Sun is working in the Bahri Lab, where he is involved in DNA extraction of Clarireedia spp., Epicoccum spp., and Magnaporthe oryzae for sequencing, as well as genome-wide association studies (GWAS). He has also helped mentor two UGA Young Scholars, contributing to their research experience and scientific development alongside other members of the lab. Sun has been a great addition to the Bahri Lab this summer, and we appreciate his contributions to our research.
