Susmita Sigdel, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Georgia, traveled to Rhode Island to attend APS Plant Health 2026. She received the APS Foundation Turfgrass Pathology Student Travel Award and presented her first-author poster, “First Report of Gray Leaf Spot Caused by Magnaporthe oryzae in Creeping Bentgrass in Texas, USA.” She also contributed to a collaborative poster led by Dr. Bochra Bahri on light-based disease management in turfgrass.
The conference provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the Bahri Lab’s turfgrass pathology research, connect with plant health professionals, exchange ideas, and learn about new developments in the field.
