Bahri Lab at UGA Griffin is excited to welcome two students, Addison Bryant and Kayden Holmes, as participants in the UGA Young Scholars Program – Summer 2026. Throughout the 10-week program, the students are gaining hands-on experience in plant pathology and turfgrass research while working alongside members of the Bahri Lab.
Kayden Holmes is investigating the effects of UV-C light treatments on turfgrasses, with a focus on evaluating plant responses to different UV-C doses. Addison Bryant is studying the infectivity of the dollar spot pathogen to better understand disease development and host shift in turfgrass. Through these projects, the students are developing valuable research skills, including experimental design, data collection, laboratory techniques, and data analysis.
At the conclusion of the program, they will present their research findings through poster presentations at both the UGA Griffin and UGA Athens campuses, showcasing the knowledge and experience they have gained during their summer research.
